Harley's Obituary Harley Elvin Stanley, 86, passed away at home April 10, 2020. He was born June 10, 1933, in Maypearl, Texas to Odis and Hazel Stanley. Harley Elvin Stanley, better known to those closest to him by Dad, Daddy, Pops and Pawpaw is a man whom just could not get over the love of his dear wife that left him to be with Jesus just over 2 years ago. He felt her presence all around him quite often. Our dad was a man of many many stories. I, the writer of this, loved to sit around and listen to them, over and over and over again. Sometimes he would say "I'm sure I've already told you this, but..." then he would go into it. Every once in a while I'd hear one I'd not heard before. Or at least my aging mind didn't remember. I told some of his brothers one time I had a meter to test him with his stories, if I heard the story 3 times and it didn't change, then I knew it to be true. I just want his many grandkids to know, as scattered as they are, that he loved them a lot and did talk about them. Goodbye Daddy He is preceded in death by his parents Odis Guy Stanley and Hazel Jewel Washington Stanley, his wife of 66 years, Lela Rose Stanley, brothers & sisters Altas, Lucus, Curtis Stanley, Jannette Trout, Dwight Stanley, Carol Coker, and Gary Stanley. He is survived and will be greatly missed by 4 children Sherry Doshier and husband Jimmy, Brenda Rhodes, Elvin Stanley and wife Tammy, Pam Markle and husband Richard, brothers & sisters Rozelle McCoy, Laverne Stalling, Kenneth Stanley, Nelda Stanley, Daniel Stanley, George Stanley, 8 grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews all whom loved him dearly. The family will have a memorial at a later date.
