Duncan Banner, Fri., Aug. 10, 2007 GLENN W. ANTHONY, 87, of Waurika, passed from this life Thursday, August 9, 2007, after a long illness. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Church of the Nazarene in Waurika, with the Rev. Lynn Plant, the Rev. Richard Hayes and the Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Burial will be in Waurika Cemetery under direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Glenn was born July 13, 1920, south of Waurika, to J. W. and Florence Mabry Anthony. He was a graduate of Claypool School. He married Lula Ethel Plant on Dec. 24, 1940, in Waurika. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene. He had many jobs: farming, manager of Custom Gin and Swift Produce, school bus driver and custodian. He retired from Halliburton in 1983 after serving 25 years as security guard. His favorite hobbies after retirement were his family and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 66 years; a daughter, Doris Pilgreen, and a son, Wayne and his wife Regina, all of Waurika; five grandchildren, Christy Green and husband Chuck, and Debra Rodriguez and husband Rene, all of Duncan, Jennifer Carr and husband Ron of Irving, Texas, Jeff Anthony and wife Kapin of Oklahoma City, and Tammie Rostant and husband Pete of Sachse, Texas; ten great-grandchildren, Erikah Miller and husband Adam of Stillwater, Ryan Mora of Waurika, Kalah Stricklin of Stillwater, Sara Barnard, Daniel and Skyler Rodriguez and Jarrett Green, all of Duncan, Candice and Akira Carr of Irving, Texas, and Audrie Rostant of Sachse, Texas; one brother, Claude of Waurika; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bonnie Lokey, Jewel Stewart and Blanche Brittain; and two brothers, Tom and Earnest. Condolences to: www.dudleyfuneralhomes.com
