Bio

Betty Jo Winters, 77, of Midland, died on Sunday, August 9, 2009, in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Robert Frazier, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at the funeral home. She was born on August 27, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and married James Winters on December 1976 in Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1999. Betty Jo was a Baptist. Survivors include her son, Roy Lee Hammond and wife Lolly, of Krum; two grandchildren, Missy Clark and husband Warren, and Shaun Hammond; two great grandchilren Tosha Clark and Billy Ray Clark; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Housden; one sister, Bonnie Stanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Winters; her parents, John and Ronie Housden; 3 sisters, Nora Stone, Christine Williams, and Lovetta McCain; and a great nephew Emmitt "Buck" Moore. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland.
