JIMMY HOUSDEN Chapel Services for Jimmy Housden, 85, of Kilgore will be held at 10 a m on Thursday, January 17, 2019, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Rev. Roger Hoffpowier and Rev. Kirby Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Housden completed his earthly journey in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 14, 2019. Jimmy was born on January 1, 1934, in Aubrey to John and Ronie Housden. He met and married the love of his life, Roberta, and they spent the next 65 years making many loving and happy memories. He honorably served in the National Guard for 8 years. Jimmy worked in the oil and gas industry until his retirement as a diesel mechanic and on drilling rigs for Condor Drilling Company and he retired from Fowler Trucking Company. He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Kilgore. Jimmy enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and collecting many different things. His family was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Roberta of Kilgore; daughters, Rhonda Brown of Kilgore, Cheryl Hill of Foreman, AR, Elaine Robinson of Aubrey, Brenda Carter of Kilgore, Janice Moses of Ore City, Cindy Robinson of Aubrey; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with, nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Edward John Housden, sisters Nora Stone, Bonnie Stanley, Betty Winters, Christine Williams and Lovetta McCain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 7.
