Obituary for Robert Joe Machan Robert Joe Machan, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his home in Burleson County, Texas. A graveside service was held Friday, February 7th, 2020, 1p.m. at New Tabor Cemetery with Brother Joseph J. Polasek officiating. Robert was born May 23, 1933 in Burleson County, to John Jerry and Lydia Ann (Hovorak) Machan. Robert was a member of the New Tabor Brethren Church from an early age. He worked for General Tire in Waco for many years and upon retirement he moved back to Caldwell and went into ranching with his brothers Alton and Alvin. Robert was a thoughtful good man with a good work ethic; he was generous and always willing to help others. He was also interested in and an avid collector of arrowheads as well as a reader with broad interests. He is survived by his brother Alton Machan, his sister-in-law, Lucille Glenn Machann, his nephews and wives, Don Campbell, Jr. and wife Dessie, Dr. Clinton Machan and wife, Ginny Brown Machann; nieces Nelda Campbell Roscher and Janice Machan Nelson and husband Fred, four great nieces and two great nephews; and his cousins, Josephine Hovorak Sobotik and Lillian Odstrcil Williams. He is also survived by his good friend Milton Kluge. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Jerry and Lydia Ann (Hovorak) Machann; brothers Frank and wife, Stacy (Paul) Machan, Johnnie and wife Sophie (Matcek) Machann, Edward Machan, and Alvin Machan; and sisters, Lydia Machan Campbell and husband Don, and Lillie Machan Prazak and husband Steve, and his nephew, Glen Machan.
