West, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Denham officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Grove Cemetery. Mrs. West was born April 10, 1922, in Joy, Okla., to W.A. and Nettie Spears Simmons. She died Jan. 29, 2002, at the local hospital. A lifetime resident of this area, she married Leon West on Dec. 4, 1957, in Gainesville, Texas, and worked in the grocery and restaurant business in addition to being a homemaker. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Karen Henson, and her husband, David, of Ardmore, Lana Broach, and her husband, Merrill, of Grandbury, Texas; a stepdaughter, Chris Hudson and husband, Tommy, of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Pearl Phillips of Ringling; two grandsons, David Cox and his wife, Jessica, and Chris Cox; a stepgranddaughter, Erica Henson; and great-granddaughter, Kelsey Cox, all of Ardmore. Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
