Funeral services for Thomas W. Tilley, 81, of Mesquite, Texas, will take place at 2PM on Friday, January 31, 2020, in the Chapel of Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. Bro. Forrest Taylor will be officiating. Interment in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park will follow. Family will receive friends between 6-8PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home. Tommy Tilley, lovingly known as "Papa", was born on Saturday, June 18, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, to James and Margaret Tilley. He passed away peacefully at 7:54AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, while surrounded by his family. Tommy is preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Betty Joyce Hill; and his brother, David Oliver Tilley. Tommy will be remembered for his love of game-cock fighting, boxing and bingo as well as poker tournaments with his family and yearly trips to Choctaw Casino. He also loved going to his lake home at Cedar Creek Lake and family hunting trips to Davy Crockett National Park in central East Texas.
