Brand, J.N., 85, retired Tulsa World security officer and Army veteran, died Monday, Jan. 27. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday and service 10 a.m. Friday, both at Mark Griffith Westwood Funeral Home Chapel. - Tulsa World Newspaper Obituary J.N. was born in Keota Oklahoma to Chester and Ruby Brand, he passed on from this life at 85 years of age January 27, 2020. J.N. has an older brother Richard (deceased), who lived in Michigan, and a younger brother Kenneth of Keota Oklahoma. J.N. attended school in Keota, Porum, and Briartown Oklahoma. He served in the Army in 1957 - 1958, he achieved the rank of SP4 e-4 (corporal). Upon discharge from the army, J.N. met his future wife Marie, she was the clerk that filed his discharge papers. They married in December 1959, they were married 46 years prior to Marie passing in 2006. They had one child Vernon who was born in 1963. J.N. held several jobs through the years; Welder, Security Guard, Inspector, and Auto Mechanic, to name a few. J.N. never met a stranger, and was notorious for joking with people, even when he was sick he would pop a wisecrack and tell you to have a good day. An avid sports fan you could often hear him rooting on his favorite teams, the OKC Thunder and St. Louis Cardinals. J.N. had a few nicknames through the years, “Eagle” because he was bald. His latest nickname was given to him by his future daughter in-law Deborah Wilfong, she called him “Pappy” and he loved it. J.N. is survived by his son Vernon of Tulsa, and his soon to be daughter in-law Deborah, and her son Davy, both of Tulsa. Brother Kenneth and sister in-law Rosanna, and nephews Claude, Doug, Kenneth Jr. and niece Becky.
