Obituary - The Herald News, Dayton, TN Edwin Eugene Shaver of Dayton, TN passed away January 21, 2020 at Laurelbrook Nursing Home. Ed was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of Walden Ridge Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving in WWII. He loved his family, golfing, gardening and sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Nell Shaver of Dayton, TN; children, Eddie (Joyce) Shaver of Hazel Green, AL, Jerry (Edie) Shaver of Dayton, TN, Steve (Gina) Shaver of Waynesboro, GA, Ted (Rhonda) Shaver of Kingsport, TN; brother, Lynn Shaver of Dayton, TN, sisters, Ora Fay Bishop of San Diego, CA, Linda Hinds of Dayton, TN; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family thanks Laurelbrook for the special care they have given. Service will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Levengood officiating. Interment will follow at Shaver Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday, Jan 26, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Walden Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
