Jackie Howell Ellison, 78, of Levelland passed from this life on January 14, 2020. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Meadow Cemetery. He was born October 29, 1941 in Brownfield to parents, Elijah and Annie Delmar (Evans) Ellison. Jackie graduated from Levelland High School in 1960, and served our country in the United States Army from 1961 to 1962. He married Catherine Louise Smith on June 26, 1965. Jackie was employed by Pioneer Natural Gas from 1963 to 1972. He retired from Hockley County Precinct 1 Road Maintenance in 2008 after 20 years of service. Jackie was the Levelland ISD Activity Bus Driver from 2010 to 2019. He also farmed in Hockley County for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; 1 half-sister and 2 half-brothers. Jackie is survived by his wife, Catherine; son, Lee (Michelle) Ellison; daughter, Margret Ann Jeffcoat; sister, Joy (Jay) Davis; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren with 1 sweet roll on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Krestridge Funeral Home.
