Bio
Services for Walter Eugene Geiger, 79, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Geiger died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. He was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Otis, Colo., the son of Fred and Roberta Weir Geiger. A Lawrence resident since 1964, he was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 49 years until he retired in 1986. He was a member of Wyandotte Lodge No. 3, A.F.&A.M., Kansas City, Kan., the Union Pacific Employees Club No. 4, and United Transportation Union. He married Adeline "Addie" Petrzilka on Nov. 17, 1945, in Marysville. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Sharon Walburn, Lawrence, and Mary Barlow, Cherokee, Iowa; two sons, Walter E. III, Lawrence, and Fredrick J., Sterling, Va.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
