Lillian Rita "Lillie" Betik Crowley December 29, 1926 ~ January 24, 2014 Lillie Crowley, 87, was the first born child to Josef Betik and Frances Marusak Betik on December 29, 1926 in Alma, Texas. She was raised in the Czech community of Creechville. She attended school in Creechville and graduated high school from St. Johns Catholic School in Ennis. She married Paul Lee Crowley on January 18, 1947. She lived in both Dallas and Ennis returning to Ennis her last years. Survived by her children, Paul Frances, Lillian Storey, Ronnie, Margaret, Theresa, Mary Ester, Elizabeth, Loretta, Edward Crowley, Roberta, Jimmy Crowley, George Crowley, Carolyn and Richard Crowley, grand children, great grand children and great-great grand children. Preceded in death by her parents, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter, her husband in 1998, one brother-in-law Adolf Trojacek, one sister, Helene Barrett in 2006 and one brother, Bernard Betik in 2013. Also survived by her siblings, Mary and husband Jerry Trojacek, Mildred Trojacek, Joe Betik, former sister-in-law Mildred Lanicek Betik, sister-in-law Nancy Betik, Wesley and wife Vera, Ella and husband Bill Heard, Evelyn and husband Danny Slovak and Bobby and wife Barbara, numerous nieces and nephews and countless great nieces and nephews and friends. She was an honorary member of the IAMAW Union Texas State Council. Lillie was a hard working woman who had many talents. She perfectly crocheted and knitted. She enjoyed gardening and selling produce at the Dallas Market. She was a renowned cook at the State Fair of Texas first entering her canning in 1958. She competed in food contests for 20 years until asked to demonstrate her cooking at her daily show Country Cooking with Lillie Crowley which ran for 30 years. Lillie appeared on local television shows; PM Magazine, 4 Country Reporter, Good Morning America and Peppermint Place. She was featured with recipes in Better Homes and Gardens and Texas Monthly magazines. She was on the Alex Burton Radio Show. She saw her long awaited cookbook complete and named it God's Blessings.
