Bio

BARRETT, , HELENE ANN BETIK 78, was called Home on Wednesday June 27, 2007. Helene was born November 8, 1928 to Joe and Frances Marusak Betik in Ennis, TX. She was reared in Ennis and Graduated from St. John High School in 1946. She then moved to Dallas and married William P. Barrett. For over 20 years, Helene worked for Mack Trucks, retiring in 1987. She was active in her Church, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, KJZT Fraternal Organization and the Dallas Czech Choir. Helene loved her Czechoslovakian heritage and enjoyed Czech music and dancing. She enjoyed numerous hobbies including gardening, crocheting and collecting. Helene was preceded in death by her son Joey in 1984, her very dear friend Henry Gerlich in 2005 and her parents Joe and Frances Betik. She is survived by her son Bill, Jr and wife Debbie; 3 granddaughters, Brittany, Ashley and Amy Reese; one step daughter Janie; five sisters, Lillie Crowley, Mary Trojacek and husband Jerry, Mildred Trojacek, Ella heard and husband Bill, Evelyn Slovak and husband Danny; 4 brothers, Joe, Bernard and wife Nancy, Wesley and wife Vera, Bob and wife Barbara. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 4-6 PM Sunday July 1 with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday July 2, 2007 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. 4015 S. Hampton Rd, Dallas; interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, in Dallas.
