Bio
Gene Holubar, 70, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, January 3, 2020. Gene was born in Dallas, Texas on October 17, 1949 to Emil Lee and Geraldine (Jaresh) Holubar. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1968. He went on to receive his Associates Degree in Art from Navarro College. Gene worked for Shilen Rifles for over twenty years as a machinist and for Ellis County for over ten years with road maintenance. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Gene’s family was the joy of his life. He enjoyed classic cars and working on the farm. He is survived by a son, Jeffrey Cole Holubar and wife, April; daughter, Katie Holifield; grandson, Cole Joseph; brother, Charles R. Holubar and wife, Louise; several nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. J. E.
