Bio

Jimmy D. Moore, 62, of Hollister, MO, went to be with his Lord, August 30, 2012 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO surrounded by family and friends. He was born October 12, 1949, in Marlow, OK, the son of Joe and Evelyn Moore. He was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Lawton, OK. Jimmy spent most of his adult life in Topeka, KS and recently retired in Hollister, MO. He retired from the Topeka Police Department after protecting and serving the citizens of Topeka, KS for 23 years as a patrolman, helicopter pilot, and detective. He also retired as Master Sergeant for the Kansas Air National Guard 190th Air Refueling Group based in Topeka, Kansas. He was a Capitol Police Officer for the Kansas Highway Patrol, Troop K, for 6 years, in Topeka, Kansas. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Branson, MO. On May 29, 1993, he married Mary Kay Moore in Topeka, KS, who survives. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Joe Moore; mother, Evelyn (Thomas) Moore; and sister, Marilyn Gallops. Jimmy is survived by two brothers, Jerry Moore, KS; Joe Moore, OK; sons, Chris Moore and fianc e, Elissa Jones, KS; James Moore and wife Tally, KS; step-daughter, Kahlee Crocker, MO; step-son, Michael Crocker and wife, Rose , WA; 2 granddaughters and 2 step-granddaughters. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, driving his Volkswagen Bug, boating and fishing on Perry Lake in KS and Table Rock Lake in MO, and playing with his dogs Sophie, Tinker, and Inga. Jimmy will be remembered for his storytelling, love of airplanes, generosity, faith, goodwill, and for being a trusted and respected friend. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, Branson, MO. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Branson, MO.
