Dorolene Eunice Husmann, age 89, of rural Columbus died Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home Mass Of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Pilsno. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10: 30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shelby, Nebraska. Dorolene "Dorie" was born March 23, 1930 in Columbus to Lawrence and Irene (Hahn) Leimser. She grew up in rural Columbus, south of Duncan where she enjoyed riding her horse and helping on the family farm. Dorie received her education at Kramer High in Columbus. Dorie was married to Harold Husmann on September 6, 1950 at St. Marys-Pilsno. They lived in Columbus, Stromsburg and Clarks before moving to the home place in 1977. She was a cook at the Clarks High School and head housekeeper at Annie Jeffrey Hospital in Osceola for several years. Upon retirement she focused on family and devoted hours researching family history.
