Sergeant, US Army World War II Earl Lee "Babe" Williams Funeral services for Earl Lee "Babe" Williams, 71, of Collegeport will be held 2 p. m. Tuesday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, Blessing. Mr. Williams was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Midway, Texas, to Charlie Jesse and Ruby Mozelle Wells Williams and died March 12, 1989, at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home, Palacios. A resident of Collegeport for 40 years, he was a member of the Blessing American Legion and the Presbyterian church. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Kopecky Williams of Collegeport; three sons all of Blessing; a sister, Jeanette Angelo of Houston; a brother, Seth Williams of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers include Joe G. Sliva Jr., Jim Bob Murry, Elmo Duke, Gus Franzen, Julius Ledwig, Louis Jones and Johnny Lee Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnny and Bee Williams; and a sister, Dorothy Williams. Arrangements with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City.
