Keesling Pearl Alberta (Baak) Keesling was born on March 29th, 1937, in Charter Oak, Iowa. She was the eldest child and only daughter of Julius and Alberta Baak. She died on November 2, 2019, at home in the Manilla Manor at the age of 82. Pearl was baptized in Christ at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa, and she graduated from Concordia HS in Seward, Nebraska. She attended the teaching program at Concordia College, also in Seward, Nebraska. She worked and lived in several states in addition to her home state of Iowa, including Indiana, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Nebraska. On January 19th, 1972, she and Wayne Keesling were united in marriage in Denison, Iowa. They raised two children together, Julie and Keith, and they supported one another in everything. Pearl particularly enjoyed working together with Wayne, which they did while running the bowling alley in Audubon, Iowa, the Pizza Shack in Denison, Iowa, and a group home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, just to name a few. Pearl loved cooking and baking, her husband, children, and grandchildren, animals of all kinds, silly socks, and every child she ever met. She spent much of her life working with children as either a teacher or child care provider, and there was rarely a child she encountered who didn't love her right back. She loved to smile and laugh at the absurdities in life, to shop for new clothes and for Christmas and birthday gifts, and she had a beautiful singing voice. Pearl also enjoyed sewing, playing card games, watching college and high school sports, especially women's sports, and definitely enjoyed social gatherings with friends and family. She could talk to anyone about literally anything. Pearl was preceded in death by her dear husband Wayne, her parents, both of her brothers, Paul and Dale, and their wives. Survivors include her beloved dog, Lucy; her son, Keith and wife Kathleen; her daughter, Julie and husband Paul; six grandchildren: Jordan and his wife Lacey, Jacob, Jade, Kelsey, Keegan, and Kiley, one great-granddaughter, Maxwell; numerous nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
