Paul Julius Baak was born March 21, 1941, in Ricketts, Iowa the son of Julius Baak and Alberta (Gosch) Baak. He grew up in the Charter Oak/Ricketts area attending school graduating from Charter Oak High School with the Class of 1959. After graduation Paul farmed with his family, later he became an over-the-road trucker, trucking for various farmers hauling livestock and grain. Paul enjoyed giving people a ‘hard time’, sharing jokes whenever possible. He kept up on current events, always voicing his opinion, and usually not in a quiet way! Paul’s major form of entertainment was watching WWE Wrestling on TV. In later years, he enjoyed sharing his birthday with a granddaughter, grandson and great-granddaughter, something he was very proud of. Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his five children, Brenda Bonsall of Earling, Iowa; Yvonne Petersen and husband Matt of Red Oak, Iowa; Jodi Strasser and husband Chris of De Soto, Iowa; Jamie Wymore and wife Codi of Maryville, Missouri; and Mike De Anda and wife Cathy of Coin, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one on they way; a sister, Pearl Keesling and husband Wayne of Manilla, Iowa; a brother, Dale Baak and wife Susan of Holstein, Iowa; his first wife, Sandra Culver of Dunlap, Iowa; along with many other relatives and friends. Preceding Paul in death are his parents, Julius and Alberta Baak; a still-born daughter; two wives, Diana Baak and Joy Baak; and a grandson, Matthew Lovitt. Paul had a great sense of humor that will be missed by his family. May he be at peace in God’s loving care.
