STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA In the Name of God, Amen. I Jacob Cooley of the State and District GREENVILLE COUNTY above writen being weak of Body but of sound memory and perfect understanding knowing that it is appointed for man to sie and after death to some to Judgement I do hereby constitute this to be my last will and testament and what every worldly Goods it has pleased God to Bless me with I do give and bequeath in the form and manner Following Vis. First I bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Decent manner at the will of my Executors hereafter named. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy one negro woman named Mary During her natural life or widowhood also I bequeath to her so much of my household and kitchen furniture as my be necesary for her to live comfortably on together with my plantation and stock And plantation tools excepting one cow and calf apiece to each of my Daughters, also my Blacksmith tools and waggon During her life etc. I give and bequeath to my son James one hundred and fifteen acres of land adjoining Samuel Roberts and Murry Woodson land Also one negro Woman the above named Mary after the decease of my wife and one shot Gun and pistol. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Patsy one negro girl named Eleander and in case the above Mary should bring forth a living Child before the Decease of my wife, to her and the heirs of her Body, and one feather Bed and the furniture belonging to it and one cow and calf. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah two negro girls named Emiline and Mary one feather Bed and Furniture and one cow and calf to her and the heirs of her Body. I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy one negro girl Named Judith one feather Bed and Furniture and one Cow and Calf to her and the heirs of her Body. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Lucinda one negro girl named Jinny one feather Bed and Furniture and one cow and calf to her and the heirs of her Body. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Pinnell one Still and one hundred acres of land after my wife's death the land to be adjoining James and Hiram's land. I gave and bequeath to my son Hiram one negro man named June and one hundred and twenty five acres land adjoining Samuel Williams and Elizabeth Vincents land on the trail Road. I give and bequeath to my son John one negro boy named Tom. I give and bequeath to my son Lewis one negro boy named Adam and one Grey stud colt and saddle and Two Hundred acres of land of my old tract and present place of Residence. Also I desire the Balance of my land household and kitchen Waggon and Blacksmith tools Stock and all to be sold after the Decease of my wife and the money to be equally Divided Between my five daughters afore named. Also my cotton which I have now on hand I wish my executors to send it to market and there with to pay all my Just debts, and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my sons John Cooley and Lewis Cooley my lawful Executors of this my last will and testament Revoking and seting aside all other will or wills heretofore made by me as witness my hand and seal this 2nd Day of February 1826. Bowen Murry [x] Woodson John Bohannon It is believed that Jacob Cooley and his wife Nancy are buried here at this family cemetery, and possibly his parents Jacob Cooley Sr. and Sarah Jordan.
