Bess Mccarley Carr, 87 Victoria Advocate, The (TX) - Thursday, December 2, 1999 YOAKUM -- Bess McCarley Carr, 87, of Yoakum, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. She was born Jan. 25, 1912, in Batesville to the late Robet Kendell and Lucy Jane Adams Davis. She was retired from government service in 1962, after trapping predatory animals for 27 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, Mable Falls Art Guild and the Austin Writers League. Survivors: step-daughter, Louise Martin of Mexia; step-son, Robert Carr II of Georgia; sister, Elis Hamilton, Buffalo Gap; granddaughter, Deidra Starling of Yoakum; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husbands, Jack McCarley and Robert W. Carr; daughter, Betty Bob Rhodes; and brother, Virgil Howard Davis. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Buffington Funeral Home chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Terry Starling officiating.
