***************** Chanute, KS ~ July 12, 2007 Jerry Don Ham, 72, Houston, Texas, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home. He was a graduate of Milby High in Houston, TX. He earned his bachelor and master of science degrees in petroleum engineering at the University of Texas-Austin and achieved his doctorate with a major in petroleum engineering and mathematics at the University of Tulsa-Oklahoma. He retired from the U.S. Department of Energy and was the former owner of MAXAM oil in Humboldt, KS. Survivors include his wife, Esther Ruth; four children, including a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ham and Zane Terflinger, Chanute, KS; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial to be July 14, 2007, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas. ******************
