Browns Creek After a long spell of feeble health, the death of Noble Byers occurred last Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ezra Zerbe of this township. Mr. Byers was born in Ohio, Sept. 15th, 1831, being 74 years, 1 month and 14 days old. His parents moved to Illinois when he was 5 years old. He was married in 1853 to Miss Elizabeth T. Dickson and to them seven children were born, five of whom are still living, four of them in this vicinity and one in Illinois. His wife died very suddenly about 5 years ago. Rev. Herrington of Ionia, conducted the funeral services and the remains were laid to rest in the Union cemetery, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Byers was well known in this community, being the father of Wm. and Albert Byers, Mrs. E. E. Applebee and Mrs. E. Zerbe. Before the grave of Mr. Byers was filled up, there arrived from Mankato the remains of the little child of Mr. and Mrs. James Henderson, making two burials at the same time which has only occurred at this cemetery once before, as far as we know.
