Bio
Daughter of Spencer & Myrtle (McGown) Rice. She attended school in Columbus. On December 24, 1929 she and George Louis were married in Avoca, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Columbus area until his death in 1983. In 1991, Ethel moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola. Ethel was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Columbus where she was a member of Anna Circle and helped with the fall market at the church. She was a 4-H leader for 30 years and a charter member of the Country Cousin's Card Group. She loved baking and being a friend. Her grandchildren will always remember her chocolate popcorn cakes.
