Richard Bailey, 65, of 9__ Second Avenue, died this morning at Behlen Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Gass-Haney Funeral Home. The Columbus Telegram , July 2, 1971 BAILEY-- C. Richard Bailey funeral is Monday Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel for C. Richard Bailey, 65, of 962 Second Avenue. He died Thursday morning in Behlen Hospital. The Rev. _.W. Shaffer will officiate, with burial in Columbus Cemetery. His body will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Born Jan. 26, 1906 at Levona, Mo., he was the son of Frank J. and Myrtle Kelly Bailey. He married Ruth Louis on Aug. 24, 1935. Before retiring in 1969, Mr. Bailey was a pay foreman for Behlen Manufacturing Company. Surviving are his wife; sons, LaVerne of Columbus and Eldon of Stromsburg; daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Gehring of Howard, S.D.; mother, Mrs. Myrtle McCullough of Eldorado Springs, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Scott, Danny and Julie Bailey of Stromsburg, Dana and Gina Bailey of Columbus, Pamela and Steve Gehring of Howard, S.D. His father and two sons, Charles Francis and Richard Edward, preceded him in death. Memorials may be designated to Highland Park Free Church for the foreign missions. BAILEY-- Bailey Rites - Funeral services for C. Richard Bailey, 65, were conducted by Rev. C.W. Shaffer Monday afternoon at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel and Columbus Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Van Diest, Francis Solliere, Rudolf Stoll, John Griffiths, Mike Podraza Jr. and Dale Plugge.
