Bio
Harold "Gene" Holloway, Sr. 79, was born to Raymond and Mary Alice Hurbrough Holloway. He served in the US Army from 1957-1961. He had worked for Brown and Root Industrial Services for 16 years. After leaving there, he drove a dump truck and worked in the maintenance department for Elkhart ISD. He was a pastor for over 30 years in the Elkhart and Palestine churches and had preached just two weeks before passing. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Neal Holloway; sons, Harold, Jr. "Bubba" Holloway (Melody), Gary Holloway, Michael Holloway, David Holloway; daughters, Rhonda Barker (Lonnie), Kim Hollie (Larry), Chrystal Holloway.; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and he adored them all. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at Days Chapel Missionary Baptist Church; interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery in Slocum. (Rhone Funeral Home 10/23/2019)
