Bio

Joseph Edward Gassett was the son of John Wesley Gassett and Barzilla Frances "Fannie" Roberts Gassett. Joseph passed away at the age of 16. From 1886-1888 Yellow fever was sweeping through many of the newly formed Florida communities including throughout Suwannee County, Florida. It is believed that this may have been the cause of young Joseph's death but has not been proven. Not long after Joseph's death, John and Fannie moved to Montgomery County, Texas. By this time John and Fannie had saved enough money to no longer rent and they were able to purchase a home in Texas.
