Bio

Charles Augustus Gassett was the son of John Wesley Gassett and Barzilla Frances "Fannie" Roberts Gassett. He married Amanda Griffin Gassett about 1890. He had been a resident of Tampa for 34 years prior to his passing. He is survived by a son, John Dewitt Gassett; three daughters, Mrs. Weeta Mobley, Mrs. Annie Campbell, and Miss Zilla Gassett, and 10 grandchildren, all of Tampa. Funeral services were held at the funeral home of F. T. Blount, Rev. A. A. Godfrey, of the Edgewood Methodist church officiated. Pallbearers were Charles Campbell, Fred Campbell, Rudolph Campbell, J. W. Campbell, Burney Terrell and James Dunn. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
