Bio

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Kenneth and Lula (DeFord) Dawson. Received her education in Lincoln and Milford. Moved to Grand Island in 1945 and worked as a matron of the Hall County Jail and later at Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant. Married Bruce Lorance on March 2, 1974, at Cairo. She was employed as a cook at the Holiday Inn. Her husband died in 1991. Due to failing health, she went to Lincoln to be near her daughter. Survived by one daughter, Delores (Mrs. Kenneth) Smith, Lincoln and grandchildren and one brother, LeRoy Dawson of Valpraiso. Preceded in death by her husband.
