Waco Tribune Herald Saturday, April 27, 1968, page 2A Robert Phillips Dies Here at 79; Last Rites Today Funeral services for Robert Phillips, 79, of the Regis will be at 10 am Saturday in Connally Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm in Hico Cemetery, Rev Payton Goodwin officiating. He was born Feb 18, 1890, at Kerens. He spent his boyhood in Hico and graduated from Hico schools. He was a rate clerk for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years in Lake Charles and Monroe, La. He married Miss Evelyn Stubblefield in 1914. He was a Methodist and a member of Knights of Pythias and the International Order of Odd Fellows. He recently served as Grand Master of the IOOF Lodge in Monroe, La. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marceil Branum of Dallas and Mrs. Virginia Danner of Batesville Ark; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a brother, Goodwyn Phillips of Whitney; three sisters, Mrs. George Leeth of Hamilton, Mrs. Hattie Sanders of Bellmead, Miss Mae Phillips of Hico. His youngest sister, Miss Ruth Phillips of Hico, died several years ago. Shared by David Stover
