Bio

son of Dr. Robert Marcus Phillips - Cynthia E. Persons James Phillips married Florence Dayton on 7 April 1887 in Kerens, Texas. God blessed this union with six children. James M. Phillips died at his home in the Cox-Weaver Addition in Hico. Services were held in the Hico Methodist Church. He was born at Chatfield, in Navarro County. When a small child, his parents, Dr. and Mrs. R.M. Phillips moved to the Rush Creek community in the same county. He was converted and born into the Kingdom of God in 1881. He united with the Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; children - Robert Phillips, Mrs. George Leeth, Mrs. H.W. Sanders, Goodwyn Phillips, Mae Phillips, Ruth Phillips.
