Alfred J. Jech, 98, died Sunday September 29, 2019 in Kingfisher Oklahoma. Alfred was born March 7, 1921 on the family farm east of Kingfisher, OK to Wesley F. Jech and Marie L. (Soudek) Jech. Alfred began his schooling at the one room Trail Creek school and completed his studies graduating from Kingfisher High School in 1938. Alfred met his wife, Elizabeth Fields, while the both of them were in high school at a dance at the Bohemian Hall east of Kingfisher. Alfred and Elizabeth were married 24 days after Pearl Harbor on Dec. 31, 1941, in Wichita, KS and they danced together for 65 years of marriage. The two loved to dance and were regulars on the dance floor of the Elks Lodge. Alfred was drafted into the Army in 1942 and served at Camp Gruber outside of Muskogee, OK. for over 3 years and was discharged in 1945. They moved back to the family farm of Kingfisher and began his 40-year farming career with his father Wesley. He was active in the community and served as Kingfisher County Assessor for 18 years, during which time he served as the State President of the County Assessors association in 1983. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club, Elks Lodge, and American Legion Post #5. Alfred is survived by daughter, Wanda Cline of Oklahoma City; and son, Alan J. Jech and his wife Diane of Duncan, OK. He has seven grandchildren, Susan McCaleb of Sulphur, Scott of New York, Adam of Odessa, TX, Taylor, Mallory, Caleb and Connor Jech, all of Duncan. He also has five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Blanche, brother Marion, wife Elizabeth and son A.J. Funeral services will be Thursday October 3rd, 2019 at the First Christian Church of Kingfisher with Rev. Russ Brown officiating. Interment will be in Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.
