Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Roby Koch, 78, of Denver were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Klawitter Funeral Chapel here. She died suddenly Sunday evening at Geneva, where she had been brought two days earlier to be near her daughter, Mrs. Edith Bixby. Mrs. Koch was born at Red Cloud Feb. 11, 1883. For many years she was associated with her husband John Walter Roby, in the operation of a furniture and funeral service business in Nelson. Mr. Roby died June 23, 1922 and she left Nelson in 1928 following the sale of their business. Since that time Mrs. Koch had made her home in St. Joseph, Mo., and Denver. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Nelson. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bixby and Mrs. Don McCashland of Eugene, Ore.; two sons, John Roby of Lincoln and James Roby, who is with the Air Force stationed in Germany; two step-daughters and one step-son. Mr. Koch died five years ago. The Rev. Mr. I.L. Belden of the Nelson Methodist Church officiated at the Wednesday services.
