On Friday, August 23, 2019, William Edward Bollom (Bill) of Brazos Country, TX, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 94. Bill was born on December 24, 1924 in Hallettsville, TX to Louis and Clara (nee Janak) Bollom. Raised in Weid, TX, he was a hard worker from an early age, working his family's land with his six siblings, and alongside his trusty mules, Katie, Julie, and later, Molly and Jessie. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the USS Harris during World War II; upon his honorable discharge, Bill commenced a 40-year career with Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a humble man who considered himself extremely lucky to have two great loves in his life, his first wife of 41 years, Lillian M. Bollom (nee Putska, dec. 1988), with whom he shared seven children; and his second wife of 27 years, Frances S. Bollom (nee Spaniel and Pustejovsky, dec. 2018), with whom he was a proud step-father to five. Bill was happiest surrounded by his immediate and extended family and friends, sipping on a Pearl or Milwaukee's Best beer. Bill journeyed the US and the globe, both personally, and while performing traditional Czechian dances and songs with his friends in the P.O.L.K of A. An accomplished domino enthusiast, and designated pitcher during family softball games, Bill exemplified the merits of teamwork to his children and grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his father; mother; wives; sons, Lawrence (dec. 1951) and Anthony (dec. 2018); and grandson, John Taylor Roberts (dec. 2001). Bill shall be forever remembered by his children, Robert (Rosalie), Marcus (J'Don, dec. 2018), Kenneth, Deborah (Gregg) Roberts, William; and his step-children, Robert (Baiba) Pustejovsky, Michael (Marion) West, John (Susan) Pustejovsky, James (Kathy, dec. 2015) Pustejovsky, and Mary (Mike) Goldsby; his daughter-in-law, Fabienne Bollom; and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss his jovial laugh and quick wit. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 Fourth St., Sealy, Texas. A rosary will begin at 10:00 AM and funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
