Bio
Alvie "Dale" Hayes, 53, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 14, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery with military rites by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26. Mr. Hayes was born in McAlester, Okla., and had been an Amarillo resident since 1950. He graduated from Amarillo High School and served with the Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hayes received an associate degree in criminal justice from Amarillo College. He was employed as a correctional officer at the Clements Unit. Survivors include a son, Tim Hayes of Amarillo; three daughters, April Hayes and Amber Hayes, both of Amarillo, and Trina Walker of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Don Hayes of Amarillo; a special friend, Nita Tucker of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 2907 S. Birmingham.
