Bio
Funeral services for George W. Morgan, 86, of 2401 Jonesboro Rd., West Monroe, will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Old Bethel Baptist Church near Clarks, La., with the Rev. Lavelle Crain officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Morgan died early Tuesday at E. A. Conway Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Zadie Morgan of West Monroe; two sons, Ernest L. Morgan of Tioga and Lonzo Morgan of Warren, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Louise Whitaker of Grayson; one sister, Mrs. Ida Lasyone of Beaumont, Tex.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Perkins, Jerry Perkins, A. L. Perkins, David Boyd, Harry Dale Hunt, and John Stinson. Published in The Monroe News-Star (LA), Wednesday, March 14, 1973
