Bio

Emily Havel, 88, of Marietta, Ga., died Tuesday at the Hill Haven Convalescent Center in Marietta. Mrs. Havel was born Feb. 7, 1987 in Abie, Nebraska. She was a long time resident of the Wahoo community. The former Emily Coufal married James M. Havel on March 29, 1922 in David City. He died Feb. 21, 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Gladys) Price of Marietta; three brothers, Henry of Prague, Jim of Colon and Ernest of Aurora, Colo.; four sisters, Mrs. Tom (Gustie) Chvatal of Colon, Mrs. Louis (Wilma) Musilek of Omaha, Mrs. Ed (Ella) Koudela of Tekamah and Mrs. Olga Tomek of Schuyler; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. The Rev. Burton Knudsen will officiate. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. Burial will be in Prague National Cemetery. Freemont Tribune 9/25/1985, p. 2.
