Bio
Robert Elmer Sheeder, 71, son of Elmer & Nina (Christensen) Sheeder, was born February 3, 1948 in Adair County, Iowa. He passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa. Robert graduated from Greenfield High School. He enlisted into the United States Army serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his discharge, he married Sally Kuster on August 5, 1973 in Menlo, Iowa. They made their home in Stuart. In 1985, they moved to Panora. Robert started out farming and working at a few other jobs before working for Ryko Manufacturing in Grimes, where he was the Shipping Supervisor. He retired in 2012. Robert enjoyed gardening, working on vehicles, inventing and tinkering with things. He could fix anything or make it work in his own special way. Robert is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Julie (Mathew); Mark (Alice); Lee (Megan); Ron; Rob (Emily); and Debbie; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Siblings, Shirley (John), Alvin (Kathy), Patsy (Larry), Kenneth, Cindy (Mike), Beverly (Darrell), Ardis (Francis), Louise, Michael (Suzanne); and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Joshua Byerly. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, near Van Meter. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
