Bio

Georgia Caroline Riddle married Elvor Wesley Shreves on August 31, 1923 in McCurtain Co., Oklahoma. Her residence was listed as Broken Bow, Oklahoma. It was noted on the marriage certificate that "Mrs. Riddle gives consent over the telephone from Marlow's store. BBow." This consent was required because Georgia was just 15 years old even though marriage license said she was 16. (This notation indicates that Georgia's mother, Mary Ann Burns Riddle Howell, had resumed using her 1st married surname of "Riddle" by 1923. It is unclear if she divorced John Howell or if he had died prior to this time). Georgia Caroline Riddle Shreves was widowed in 1947 and remarried to Phillip Sheridan Perkins on Dec. 29, 1948 in Sevier Co., Arkansas. Georgia was living in Broken Bow, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma at this time. ----- Courtesy of CHB ---------------------------- Obituary for Georgia Caroline Riddle Perkins in The McCurtain Gazette Newspaper (Idabel, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma) published Wednesday, April 16, 1958: MRS.
