Columbus Aquillas Parks is the son of Lemuel B. and Amelia White Parks . Orphaned at the age of 2 1/2 in a War torn area, Chariton County, Missouri. He was raised by Jackson Peyton a prominent stock dealer. Where he was schooled and learned a trade of horses. Married Lelah L. Kanatzar February 22 1885 in Randolph County. They had seven children, with only five living to adult hood. Only one son, my grandfather Joshua Aquillas Parks "Jock". Infant Son and Charley Flood Parks. I strongly believe they are buried at Fairview Christian Church Cemetery, Randolph County. Columbus was living and working for "Old Doc Christian" Centralia Fireside Guard newspaper Centralia, Boone, MO October 4 1912 Front Page Col 5 C. A. Parks Dead Died at his home near this city on Monday, September 30, 1912 C.A. Parks, age about fifty years of kidney trouble and other complications. The funeral was preached by Elder Madison A. Hart, of Columbia, after which the remains were interred in the city cemetery. Mr. Parks was an old and respected citizen and was liked by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. I know very little about him. He was orphaned at the age of two and half and he was called papa. He cut and sold Rider and Rail fence, selling one time to a man named Northcutt. He was a farmer and loved horses. He died at the early age of 51. Obit I extracted out of the newspaper reads, died Monday September 30 1912. His stone reads Oct 1 1912.
