Hattie L. Brown, 92, wife of the late Ervin L. Brown Sr. of Red Oak, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019, in Lancaster, Texas. Born in Garrett, Texas, on September 17, 1926, Hattie was an accomplished gardener and gifted cook. Hattie was active in the community as a Meals on Wheels driver, member of St. Francis of Assisi Church Altar Society and Eucharistic Minister and KJZT. Family and friends were her passion and delight, fluent in Czech, she loved to read and write her Family's native language. Survived by her sons: James Brown and wife, Judy; Tommy Brown and wife, Mary; daughter, Janice Brown-Hunt, Granddaughter, Jayme Sadlier and husband, John; Grandsons: Scott Brown and Michael Mauldin; Great Granddaughters: Camryn Sadlier and Breanne Plumb; Sisters: Mary Brown and Evelyn Barnes: Stepbrothers: Wayne Lacik and wife, Pam; Johnny Lacik; Stepsisters: Janie Lacik-Salazar and husband, Abel; Joann Lacik-Majik and husband, Jerry. Nephews: Jim Smith and wife, Teri; Paul Brown: Nieces: Linda Hilburn and JoAnn Robertson. In addition to her husband, Ervin Lee Sr, she was predeceased by sons, Ervin Lee Jr and Robert Joseph, Parents, Frank and Mary Patak-Lacik; Sister, Helen Smith and Brother, Frank Lacik. Catholic Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday, June 24, 1100 AM at St. Francis of Assisi, Lancaster, Texas. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ennis, Texas.
