Bio

Graveside services were held in Whiteman Cemetery at 2 p.m. today for John Strawn, 87, of the Indiana Veterans Home, Lafayette. He died there at 2 p.m. yesterday after a brief illness. Mr. Strawn was a World War I veteran. He had lived in Indianapolis and was retired from the Nickel Plate Railroad. He was born September 14, 1894, in Clinton County, to Howard and Minnie (Barnett) Strawn. He married Charlotte Wilson, and she died in 1961. Surviving are a sister, Katherine Kuntz of Michigantown. The Rev. James Sennett officiated at the services. The Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Source: Frankfort Times, Wednesday, October 7, 1981
