Bio

Georgia Marie Chandler, 81, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away May 25, 2019 peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Dementia. She was born on August 7, 1937 to Adolf and Frances Sasin in Moravia, Texas. On December 3, 1956 she married Michael Andrew Chandler Sr, who preceded her in death. She is survived by four children, David Chandler of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Susan (Tom) Huberty of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Michael Andrew Chandler Jr. of Wellington, Texas, Robert(Tina) Chandler of Tampa, Florida; Seven grandchildren, Matthew (Nikki) Huberty, Katherine Huberty, Brooke Sager, Jade Chandler, Kristin Chandler, Jake Chandler and Libby Chandler. She had three brothers; George, Bill and Ben. Ben is her surviving brother from Weatherford,Texas. She is also survived by her two sister-in-laws, Patricia (Jim) Garret of Raleigh, North Carolina and Kaye Chandler of Daytona Beach, Florida. Georgia had the unique ability to make everyone she knew or came in contact with feel special, valued and loved. She was passionate about life. Family was everything to her and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. We can't leave out her two cats: Peaches and Madison. She loved to bake, quilt and sit in her pajamas and eat her favorite dessert......ice cream (while watching Wheel of Fortune). Georgia graduated from Roscoe High School in Roscoe, Texas, in 1955. She worked a variety of jobs and finished her career at the MacDill Air Force Base Non-Commissioned Officers Club in Tampa, Florida. After the death of her husband, Georgia moved to Fort Walton Beach in 2001 to be closer to her grandchildren. While there, she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Shalimar, Florida. She moved to Hawthorne House Assisted Living in Shalimar, Florida in May 2016 and recently to Belvedere Commons Assisted Living in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for a short time. While our hearts are broken for the time we will be without her, we rejoice for what she has gained. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1 Meigs Drive, Shalimar, Florida with Pastor Ray Angerman officiating. A private internment will be held at Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville, Florida.
