Bio

Dessa Jean Adams was born to Shirley and Ethel Powell, September 22, 1935 on the home place in Anna Texas. She was the youngest of ten children. Dessa graduated from Anna High School in 1953. She was married to Bob Adams on March 5, 1954. They purchased property on Old Highway 75, in July of 1958. She resided there until April 2018 when she moved to Tom Bean Texas. Dessa loved camping with the family. Colorado was her favorite place to vacation. She planted a garden annually until 2018. She is survived by her daughter and husband of Leander TX, nine Grandchildren and 17 Great grandchildren, Brother and SIL, Brother n law, Many nieces and nephews, cousins, good friends, and care givers. Dessa taught Sunday School many years, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Anna. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend church and was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, son, Larry Gene Adams, brothers Edward Powell, Fletcher Powell, Dub Powell, and Tillman Powell, sisters Mary Francis, Carrie Ruth Sanborn, Catherine Powell, and Freida Cantrell. The family will receive friends, on May,30, 2019 @ Scroggins Funeral Home, Van Alstyne TX from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be held the following day at Calvary Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Adams Family Cemetery followed by at a time of fellowship and food provided by Calvary Baptist at the church. Donations may be made in memory of Dessa Adams to Calvary Baptist Church, Anna, TX, King's Trail Cowboy Church, Whitewright TX or Michael Gott Evangelistic Association (Designated missions) P O. Box 2636, Keller, TX 76244-2636 or Hospice of Grayson.
