Services for Jo Ann Bateman Hill, 49, of Slaton were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at First Assembly of God in Slaton with the Revs. Robert Burns and John Van Hoose, pastors, officiating. Burial was in Spur Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock. She died Friday, June 7, 1996, at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Lubbock. She graduated from Spur High School and married Jim Hill on April 14, 1967, in Galveston. She moved to Slaton in 1976. She was a member of First Assembly of God and was W.M. President at the church. She had worked for Monroe Henson Vehicle Transport for several years. Survivors include her husband; her stepmother, Wilma Bateman of Spur and a brother, Russell Bateman of Bryan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Graveside pallbearers were her 1964 classmates Geroge Neaves, Jim White, Ray Hindman, and Ricky Paschall (whose father was Jim Paschall).
