Ruby Louise Borrer, 91, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 in Sealy, Texas. Born March 16, 1928 in Waelder, Texas to parents Frank and Emma Ellis, Ruby will be forever remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who lived a full life. She was even bowling regularly at the age of 87. She love card games like Rummy, Canasta and Poker and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Delta Downs Casino. Ruby was renowned for her cooking specialties like fried chicken, fried peach pies and her incredible banana split cake. She dearly loved the Astros and thoroughly enjoyed their past few year’s successes. She served many years at Memorial High School cafeteria, feeding countless amounts of students. She enjoyed gardening and canning and spent over 40-years as an Avon distributor, reviving many awards as a sales representative. Mrs. Borrer is preceded in death by her husband of 58-years, James and grandson Brad. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Arlene Gilchrist and husband Bill; her son Tommy Borrer and wife Maggie; grandchildren: Julie Grubbs and husband Larin, Billy Gilchrist and wife Anita, Colin Gilchrist and wife Angela, Jason Borrer and wife Bonnie, James and Wade Borrer; great-grandchildren: Kara, Landin, Gavin, Conner, Kendalin, Britney, Cohen, Neely, Kieran, Annastin and Emerie; one brother, Roy Ellis and his wife Judy. Moreover, Ruby leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and many dear friends. The funeral Service is scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2019 at One O’clock in the afternoon at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
