Iver Beckstrom,78 September 5, 1940 ~ May 12, 2019 Iver was born September 5, 1940 in Oakland, Nebraska, to Walter and Mabel (Olson) Beckstrom. Iver lived in rural Craig, Nebraska (past village of Bertha) his entire life. He attended Bertha Country School and Lyons High School. Throughout his life, he worked as a hired hand for area famers, raising sheep, hogs, and cattle. He worked at Swanson Motors in Decatur, Nebraska (where he first met Sheila), farmed in the “Connealy Valley” and attended many auctions with Carlee Osterndorff - a few auction items he would then resell(!) Iver married Sheila Tenney on March 1, 1969 and they were blessed with four children. He enjoyed farming, raising sheep, driving his tractors, talking about auctions, talking about the auction items he bought, driving to many area coffee spots to visit with friends, eating dinner in town (especially at the HiWay Café for hot beef), driving to the Swaburg Cemetery and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Iver Beckstrom passed away May 12, 2019 at his home in rural Craig, Nebraska, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Sheila, who passed away in 2013. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jeffrey Beckstrom of Omaha, NE; Marcia (Robby) Pickell of Decatur, NE; Jill (Lael) Holliday of Malcolm, NE; Dale (Kim) Beckstrom of Oakland, NE; grandchildren: Katelynn, Josephine and Sidney Holliday, Kalter and Raymond Beckstrom; brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Beckstrom and Alfred Beckstrom all of Omaha; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, May 16, 5-7:30 pm Pelan Funeral Home, 310 South Charde Avenue, Oakland, NE. Family will be receiving friends. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service 10:30 am Friday, May 17, Uehling Auditorium, 224 3rd Street, Uehling, NE. Burial Swaburg Baptist Cemetery, US-77, Hooper, NE.
