Wanda Merle Blackburn Wanda Merle Blackburn went to be with her Lord Thursday, June 14, 2007. She married Claud James "Slim" Blackburn on December 7, 1947. She had retired from TWU, was a lifetime resident of Denton County and a lifetime member of the Sanger Church of Christ. Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 6 – 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sanger Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Sanger Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Claud (Slim) Blackburn of Sanger; daughter, Kathy and husband, Don Mims of North Richland Hills; grandson, William Michael Blakenship of Benbrook; sister, Dorothy Chisam of Valley View; cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents James Luther Ary and Birda Mae Pridemore and grandson, James William Blankenship. Our friend, mother, sister, life companion made a positive impact on every life she touched.
