Bio

Son of Verl and Bernice Baker Ramsey, he married Evelyn L. Vaughn on Oct. 14, 1944, in Petersburg, Va. She died June 8, 1991, in Peoria. One sister and one brother also preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons, John D., Dwight E. and Robert V.; three daughters, Pamela S. Gannon, Carol E. Rushing and Cherry L. Dalia; one brother, William; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A World War II Army veteran, he earned the Bronze Star. A member of Caterpillar Retirees Club, he worked on the Assembly Floor of Building P of Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 30 years, retiring in 1975.
