Bio
Betty Ross, age 81, passed away on April 30, 2019. Betty was born in Yukon, OK to William Anderson Lay and Emma Lay on February 5, 1938. She was a lifetime resident of Yukon and Oklahoma City. Betty worked in several cafeterias around the area including Dodson's in Oklahoma City. She also worked as a nursing assistant in nursing homes helping others. Betty loved family gatherings on Sunday afternoon at her home place in Yukon. She made the best biscuits and gravy, pot pie and potato salad. Betty spent many summers at Fort Cobb Lake with her two sons. Betty is survived by her brother David Lay and sister Paula, two sons Jerry and wife Shawn Gravitt, Jimmy and wife Penny Gravitt, two grandchildren Jeremiah and Ashley, five great-grandchildren Seth, Caleb, Conner, Ava, and Eden. She was preceded in death by her father William Anderson Lay, mother Emma Lay, brothers Roy, Wilburn, Red, Raymond, and Troy, sisters Mary Hazel, JoAnn, and Helen. Betty will be missed by her family and friends. Services for Betty will be held on Saturday, May 4,2019 at 12:00 PM in the Smith & Turner Chapel.
